Gitega International Academy is an institution that is committed to raising a generation of godly leaders who will display integrity in all that they do. As the discipleship ministry, we are well aware that the only way the above can be attained is through effective and transformation discipleship of the GIA student body.
As a ministry, we are strongly committed to this cause and to that effect, we have scheduled weekly discipleship meetings for all students. Every Wednesday, from 1915HRS-1955HRS, the students gather in their discipleship groups, to discuss various well-structured topics. Each discipleship group has assigned leaders from the students themselves, who are briefed in advance on the topics which are to be shared and discussed on the Wednesday of each week. The leaders have weekly meetings every Sunday after the chapel, to discuss and plan for these topics of discussion.
This mode of operation has helped in spiritually nurturing the new converts and also those who have not been exposed to substantial doctrine that is true and relevant to the daily lives. Furthermore, it has also been a good training ground for the spiritual leadership. We are able to identify, teach, mentor and guide students who show great potential of leadership especially in affairs to do with the spirituality. We are optimistic that by the grace of God a generation of excellent leaders with integrity is steadily rising.
